Day 2 update - Less adsense units = more money ?
Day 2
Yesterday I added a big block of ads to the home page, I took these off a minute ago for two reasons.
- Low cpc
- bad ctr (which is good, explaine this in a minute)
Bad CTR on the home page! Woooohooo
As i previously said, I had BAD CTR on the homepage, to which I was actually very pleased about ! This is for a simply reason-
By including an AdSense block on the home page I am creating a door for visitors to leave through ammediatly !
This is bad, it would give me a large bounce rate and decrease new sign ups.
Also it was giving me a stupid CPC, which means that that each visitor was worth pennies, which in my opinion is not true, I value each visitor a hell of a lot more then pennies ! So down game that AdSense unit !

So with this aside, yesterday was actually the best AdSense day ever for Pictures2Rate. The CTR was normal, and the overall eCPM was the same as yesterday. (IN other words up 200%).
Its interesting, the traffic was almost the same as yesterday, however the earnings were doubled, this I attribute to a two main factors-
- Increased page views = more impressions
- Banning low paying ads
I’m certain there are other reasons, but these are the basic contributing factors. Also I may have smart priced previously, maybe im not now ? Who knows !
