Less adsense units = more money ?
Right now, I am experimenting with using less AdSense units on Pictures2Rate.com. For the last couple of months we have been using the maximum of 3 units per page plus a link unit.
However today i have removed a few blocks really reducing the number of ads per page to a maximum of 2, ideally trying to use one block per page.
This experiment was bought about by reading a few adsense articles about where the highest paying ads are placed.
For example google says, the highest paying ads are displayed on the first block of ads in the page html. If I remove a few minor adsense blocks, i reduce the bad CPC (cost per click) and hopefully increase the ECPM.
This way i will hopefully only being showing adverts from higher paying advertisers ?! Thus more CPC - See what im stabbing at ?
As i said this is an experiment, so the earnings with eaither increase or decrease i will kepp you posted on this. Im interested to see if the ECPM will increase also ?!
I would love to hear some comments if you have some experience on this !
